What's possible with eLunch

Everything that comes with your eLunch platform. Your website, online ordering, in-house service, kitchen, payments, marketing and back office, all set up for you.

99 features across 14 areas. A few add-ons, such as SMS campaigns, carry a small usage cost.
01

Your website, done for you

Not a template with your logo dropped in. A real website, built to your taste, that happens to take orders.

  • Custom-designed site built around your restaurant, your photos and how you want to come across. Fine dining or fish and chips, it looks like you.
  • Your own domain, or we'll register and set one up for you. DNS, security certificates, the lot. You never touch a settings page.
  • Ordering is part of the site, not bolted on. Same look, same domain, no jarring jump to a third-party ordering page.
  • Menus set up from whatever you've got. Spreadsheet, PDF, a photo of the printed menu, a text message. We key it in and get it right, including dietary marks and allergens.
  • Pages for everything a restaurant needs: home, menus, about, gallery, opening hours and directions, contact, allergy advice, refund policy, FAQs.
  • Display menus and ordering menus can differ. Show the à la carte to browsers, sell the takeaway menu online. Several menus on one page with jump links, or one menu with dine-in and takeaway pricing side by side.
  • Reservations panel linking through to your booking provider (OpenTable today) or "ring us to book".
  • Edit it yourself, or ask us. Click any section of your site and change the words or photos in place. Preview before it goes live, publish on a schedule, undo anything.
  • Writing help built in. Stuck on a dish description? One click drafts it for you to tweak. (Coming: switched on once the AI key is in place.)
  • Found on Google, quoted correctly by AI assistants. Fast server-rendered pages, structured data for your menu and hours, sitemaps, clean URLs, and a machine-readable menu so ChatGPT-style assistants get your prices right.
  • Mobile first. Built for the phone in the customer's hand, on any browser, no app download.
02

Online ordering that works the way a takeaway actually works

  • Collection and delivery, with per-channel prices if you want them (takeaway price vs dine-in price on the same dish).
  • Order ahead for a later time today or on a future day, with a minimum lead time you set. Or ASAP only. Your call.
  • Complex delivery setups handled. Zones by postcode district or by distance from your door, each with its own fee and minimum order. Different hours for delivery and collection ("collection all day, delivery from 5:30pm").
  • Menu that sells. Sizes, options, add-ons, set meals, "choose 2 of 4" rules, required choices, spice and dietary badges, allergen legend, live search, category notes ("every chicken dish £7.30").
  • Timed menus. Lunch menu only 12 to 2, Sunday set lunch, seasonal specials. They appear and disappear on their own.
  • Allergies and kitchen notes on every basket, printed on the ticket.
  • Free-delivery progress bar, last-orders countdown, live "we're open / we're busy" strip on the ordering page.
  • Pay online, or pay at the door. Apple Pay, Google Pay and cards through our checkout, or "pay on collection / pay on delivery" if you'd rather take cash.
  • Guest checkout or customer accounts. Nobody is forced to register. Returning customers get their details filled in.
  • Order confirmation emails and a live order page for the customer, with a proper VAT receipt.
  • Phone orders keyed in by staff are first-class, not a fudge. Take the order, send it to the kitchen, text the customer a payment link if you like.
03

Busy-night controls: the calls you'd otherwise make at 10pm

  • Sold out in one tap. Mark any dish unavailable from your phone. Back on tomorrow automatically or when you say.
  • Add a delay. "+15 minutes" on delivery or collection estimates, per channel.
  • Pause ordering for a set period with an automatic restart. New Year's Eve, a broken fryer, a staff no-show.
  • Change your hours, add a closure day in seconds, and the website, the ordering page and Google all update together.

Every one of these can also be done by messaging us, and we'll do it for you in under a minute.

04

Table service, kiosk and QR ordering

One system covers the whole room: staff tablets, QR codes at tables, kiosks at the counter.

  • Service terminals with staff IDs. Any cheap Android tablet becomes a staff terminal. Every action is tied to a named person by a quick PIN, so you always know who rang what in.
  • Tables and QR codes configured for you. Table plan with areas, table-specific QR codes and a printable QR sheet. Rotate a code any time if one walks off.
  • Running tabs by table. Open a table, add rounds through the visit, each round goes straight to the kitchen. Custom off-menu items with a price when a regular wants "the usual".
  • One bill per table, however many rounds. Split it however the table wants: staff record part-payments by cash, card machine or in-app until it's settled, or guests pay for their own items from their phone.
  • Service charge rules you control: percentage, minimum party size, optional or compulsory, suggested tip amounts, minimum charge per cover.
  • Returns and corrections. Take a dish back off an unpaid round, cancel a round, adjust or refund a card payment, all logged.
  • Table admin: merge tables, move a party, take over a session, close with an outstanding balance, approve someone joining a table.
  • QR ordering at the table. Customers scan, order and pay from their own phone. The first scanner controls whether others can join their bill, so a family's kids can't run riot and strangers can't attach themselves.
  • Never type a card into a shared screen. Kiosks show a QR that hands the bill to the customer's own phone to pay. Or they pay the server.
  • Counter and buzzer mode for food-court style service: the customer's phone is the buzzer. Tap "ready" and they come and collect.
  • Kiosk lockdown built in: exit PIN, navigation lock, idle reset back to the start screen, offline banner.
  • Walk-in customers can be sold the takeaway menu from the terminal without a table.
  • Dine-in menus, prices and VAT handled separately from takeaway where they differ.
05

Kitchen: tickets, printers and screens

  • Connect your ticket printer. Star cloud printers pair with a one-time code from your dashboard. No box under the counter, no software, no laptop. Prints the moment an order is paid.
  • Kitchen display screens as an alternative or an addition: any tablet or old monitor shows tickets as they arrive, with bump, recall and elapsed-time colours.
  • Multiple printers, routed properly. Drinks to the bar, food to the kitchen, takeaway orders to a different outlet. Fried items on a separate ticket from desserts. A single-printer takeaway never sees any of this complexity.
  • Kitchen copy, duplicate copy, customer copy. Each with the right content: prices off the kitchen ticket, "thanks for eating with us" on the bag copy.
  • Tickets in your kitchen's language. Menu names, kitchen names (Chinese, for example) or both, per ticket.
  • Table bills printed from the terminal, with VAT details for registered outlets.
  • Printer watchdog. If a printer goes quiet with tickets waiting, you get a Telegram or email alert, and so do we. "Back online" too.
  • Reprint anything, on the same printer or a different one, from the order page.
  • Orders complete themselves when the kitchen confirms the ticket, so nobody is babysitting a board. A full staged workflow (accepted, preparing, ready, out for delivery) is there if you prefer it.
06

Staff paging and alerts

  • Page staff for any reason. Customer taps "call waiter", a bill is requested, a new online order lands, a table needs clearing.
  • Goes to whoever is on shift: a named person, a role, or everyone. If nobody acknowledges, it escalates.
  • Busy-table scans never dead-end. If a QR is scanned on a table that's still occupied, the customer sees a friendly holding message and a staff member is paged to sort it.
  • Telegram notifications on the owner's phone: every new order (from any channel), printer offline, new customer message. Free, instant, no app to build.
07

Payments and money

  • Card payments through Stripe in your own name. Money lands in your bank account. Card details never touch us.
  • Apple Pay and Google Pay on the checkout.
  • Refunds, part-refunds and cancellations in a couple of taps, with the customer emailed automatically and your reports adjusted.
  • Payment links by email or text for phone orders and deposits.
  • Cash and card-machine payments recorded alongside online ones, so takings mean money actually taken.
  • Tips tracked properly per order, per day, per channel, exportable for tronc and Tips Act record-keeping.
  • VAT handled correctly across takeaway and dine-in rates, service charge and delivery, with daily gross takings by rate ready for Making Tax Digital.
  • Offers engine. Percent off, amount off, 2-for-1, fixed-price deals. Restrict by channel (collection only), by day and time (cheaper midweek), by date range. Stack them or let the best one win.
  • Voucher codes with per-customer and total limits, redeemed at checkout, at the kiosk or on the terminal. Redemptions tracked back to the campaign that sent them.
08

Know your customers

  • Your customer database, owned by you. Everyone who orders: name, contact, order history, channel, last order, lifetime spend. Never pooled with other restaurants, never sold.
  • Segments in a click: lapsed customers, big spenders, dine-in vs online, weekday lunchers, or build your own.
  • Consent done properly (UK GDPR and PECR). Soft opt-in at checkout, one-click unsubscribe, per-channel preferences, a full dated record of every signal. You're covered and your customers aren't annoyed.
  • Export and erase on request, with the audit trail a data controller needs.
09

Marketing that pays for itself

  • Email campaigns in your branding, composed in minutes. Attach an offer or voucher straight to the campaign ("15% off this Tuesday").
  • Automations that run themselves: welcome after first order, win-back for lapsed customers, birthday voucher, abandoned-basket nudge.
  • Review nudges. After an order, "how was it?" Happy customers are sent to your Google reviews. Unhappy ones come to you privately as a message, before they post anything.
  • Real results, not vanity numbers: sends, opens, clicks, and revenue attributed by voucher redemption.
  • Send preview and test sends before anything goes out.
  • SMS campaigns (coming; per-message cost).
10

Customer messages, without watching an inbox

  • Contact form on your site creates a message thread, not an email that gets lost.
  • Reply from your dashboard; it goes out to the customer as an email from your restaurant's address.
  • Your existing email address plugs in. Forward it to us and customer emails become threads too, with replies matched to the right conversation.
  • Assign, note, close and reopen threads. Your team sees who's handling what.
  • Hosted mailboxes on your domain if you don't have email yet (add-on).
11

Custom-designed emails

  • Every email in your branding: order received, order confirmed, refund issued, payment link, review nudge, campaigns and automations.
  • Sent as your restaurant, from your own domain, with the authentication records set up so they land in the inbox, not spam.
  • Three sending providers with automatic failover, so an outage at one never stops an order confirmation.
  • Marketing and transactional mail kept on separate reputations: a campaign can never hurt order confirmations.
12

Your back office

  • Live order board on any device, with one-tap moves and a "not updating" warning if the connection drops.
  • Order history and search by date, status, channel, fulfilment or free text, with CSV export.
  • Edit an order after it's placed: details, delivery address, lines. Everything undoable.
  • Reports: sales by day, week, month, channel, fulfilment, product and category. Tips. VAT takings. In-house covers and unsettled bills. Fees. All exportable.
  • Dashboard with today's orders and takings, "still to collect", the week's figure, printer status and open alerts.
  • Staff accounts with roles: owner, manager, order handling, server, site editing, reporting. Invite by email, revoke instantly, PIN reset for tablets.
  • Multiple outlets under one account with separate menus, hours, printers, delivery zones and Stripe accounts, and one login for the owner.
  • Activity log of every change with before-and-after and one-click undo. You always know who changed what.
  • Settings that fit the venue: thirteen dials for in-house service, per-trigger paging rules, minimum charge, service charge, pre-order days, and more.
13

Security and reliability

  • Two-factor sign-in, breached-password checks, trusted devices, rate-limited logins.
  • Card data never on our servers. Stripe only.
  • Everything money-related is audited. Refunds, cancellations, price changes, admin actions.
  • Hosted, monitored and backed up by us. Certificates renew themselves. We're alerted before you notice.
  • Per-restaurant isolation. Your data, your customers, your domain. Nothing shared.
  • Your site stays yours. A discreet "powered by" line in the footer is the only trace of us, and it can be switched off.
14

Ongoing support

  • We set it all up. Site, menus, printers, tables, emails, domain. You supply the menu and the photos.
  • Message us and it's done. Change hours, mark something out of stock, add a dish, tweak the copy. We handle it for you while you're on service.
  • Changes go to a test site first so you can order through it end to end before customers see it.
  • No apps to install, no updates to run. It's all in the browser and improvements arrive automatically.
